Megan Wojcik, M.S., CCC-SLP/L, Speech-Language Pathologist

This one hour workshop will explore the basics of speech and language development in infants, toddlers, and young children.  This information is geared toward expectant parents and parents of young children.  There will be discussion on:

  • “Typical” Speech/Language Development in children

  • “Red flags” with communication development

  • Considerations of other developmental areas and the impact that it may have on speech and language development

  • Referral guidelines for a speech and language evaluation

  • Recommendations for preparing for an evaluation

  • Community resources and product recommendations to support communication development

  • Additional resources for information on development and strategies


Megan Wojcik is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist practicing in the suburbs of Chicago.  She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Illinois State University in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and a Master of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Saint Xavier University in Chicago.  Megan has several years experience working with pediatric populations in private practice, outpatient medical clinics, schools, and Early Intervention.  She has presented workshops to fellow colleagues and parents on the topics of: speech and language development, sign language, using the iPad to support communication, and on feeding and swallowing.  At the graduate school level, she conducted research on the topic of speech and language referrals and presented her findings at local and national Speech-Language Pathology conventions.  Megan is passionate about helping others communicate and with sharing how a Speech-Language Pathologist can help.
